  • GoodSearch & GoodShop: Search Engine and Shopping Portal

  • Kent Skating Club (KSC) is a registered charity with both GoodSearch (search engine) and GoodShop (shopping portal). These sister websites contribute a portion of user search and purchase revenus to charitable organizations. As a registered charity, website users indicating Kent Skating Club as the designated recipient will help generate funds for the club while otherwise doing routine activities. So great, so easy!

How does it work? Here's how:
When visiting either GoodSearch or GoodShop, first thing to do is indicate the charity you wish to support. Simply type in a portion of the name and hit the verify button; type in "Kent Skating Club" (without the quotations) and press verify to support KSC.

Another, and possibly easier, means of doing the same thing is to use these links for GoodSearch and GoodShop. The provided links already have KSC's registered charity ID number embeded in the URL (ID number: 910636) and save having to perform the charity designation step before proceding to use either site.
Furthermore, by right clicking on the links above, most browsers provide a contextual menu option to "Bookmark This Link", or similar name action, which can make using them in the future more convenient.
Kent Skating Club wishes to thank everyone who helps raise money for the club and we hope our enrollment with GoodSearch and GoodShop provide easy means of supporting our skaters.

  • YellowBrickMall.com: KSC's Merchant Portal Page

  • Kent Skating Club (KSC) encourages everyone to make future Internet purchases through KSC's online merchant portal page at YellowBrickMall.com whenever possible. What is YellowBrickMall.com? YellowBrickMall.com's FAQ page provides an answer:

The YellowBrickMall.com is an easy supplemental fundraising website for non–profits, schools, churches, or virtually any organization that needs help raising money. It is an online shopping mall made up of hundreds of national online merchants, whereby a portion of each purchase made from the online retailers goes back to the organization.
Furthermore, the description provided by YellowBrickMall.com on KSC's online merchant portal page reads:
Supporters of Kent Skating Club can help this non–profit organization financially (fundraising and donations) by linking to one of the online merchants on this page and a percentage of the purchase will be donated to Kent Skating Club.
Please consider using one of the many merchants located here when making Internet purchases. Simply visit Kent Skating Club's YellowBrickMall.com merchant portal page, select the retailer offering goods or services you desire to purchase, and complete the transaction using the website's normal checkout process; afterwards, a percentage of the sale will be donated to Kent Skating Club. Yea!
How much will Kent Skating Club be awarded for your efforts? Again, YellowBrickMall's FAQ page has the answer:
The average percentage commission (donation) that [KSC will] receive is between 5% and 6%!
This is a great way to help the club!
We extend our appreciation to everyone helping with this fundraising opportunity. Lets all make it hugely successful.
    GO KENT SKATING CLUB!

  • Malley's Chocolates ~ Holiday Candy Sale

  • When:
  • Oct. 13–Dec. 20, 2009
  • How to Participate:
  • Every Kent Skating Club (KSC) member should have a Malley's Chocolates packet in their respective mail slot of the KSC mailbox (located at the rink). A packet consists of a "Malley's Chocolates ~ Christmas 2009" brochure, an order form, and an instruction sheet. If somehow you did not receive one, extras are usually avaiable at the front of the mailbox. This years sale has two means of KSC member participation; You can do either of the two methods, or both.

The first method is solely through Internet selling. Follow the detailed instructions at the front of the Malley's Chocolates brochure to register yourself as a seller (link takes you to Maley's registration page: http://register.malleys.com). You will need to provide our organization number, 400086, during registration. Remember to request an email link to be sent to you. Afterwards, you will receive an email from Malley's. Forward this email to everyone you know with the news of Malley's Chocolates for sale; family, friends, co–workers, and neighbors are all good potential candidates. Your email recipients will then place their order(s) online and pay through Malley's Chocolates online payment process. Orders will subsequently be delivered directly to the party placing each order. Its that easy! What could be easier? Internet orders may be placed up to 11:59 PM, Dec. 20, 2009.

The second, and equally valid method of selling Malley's Chocolates is through use of the order form enclosed in the packet. Each KSC member seller collects orders and payments from their friends, relations, co–workers, and neighbors. After all orders are collected, one Internet order is placed online for the collected sum of orders received. Thus, you will likely desire to register as a seller (instructions in the Malley's Chocolates brocure) and use the email link from Malley's to place the entirety of your collected orders as a single order. Registration is optional when using the order form, but useful for making the process easier; besides, you can still forward the email link from Malley's to others and net more fundraising sales. : )

IMPORTANT NOTE: Using the order form method, you will place the order with Malley for the group of orders received and charge it to your personal credit card. As such, make sure to have the checks made payable to you. Remeber to use Kent Skating Club's organization number, 400086, at time of ordering for fundraising credit if you choose not to use the registered seller/email link process.

Arrange for the Malley's Chocolates delivery to arrive at your residence and distribute the orders to the appropriate party having placed the order(s) with you.

Order form sales may also be placed until 11:59 PM, Dec. 20, 2009; however, you must allow time for receiving and delivering all orders placed, so please plan accordingly.

We look forward to this years Malley's Chocolates Holiday Sale being a rousing success. Merry wishes to all members this holiday season!

Sales equal to, or greater than $1,000 affords 33% profit to KSC!

PostScript: The registration process can be confusing. A detailed walk through can be found here.
